It was a hot night. The crickets were chirping and the streets were quiet.
The gallery quickly filled with people, it was thrilling.
I am not an exhibitionist by nature but there is something about baring my soul and inner-most world with complete strangers that makes me feel so alive and connected.
Below is the blurb from my 2014 exhibition in Bangalow, NSW for this show, It’s a wonderful life.
“My dad used to say to me as a child, “Do what you're doing, while you’re doing it”.
It didn't mean much to me then but I have been reflecting on it while making this series of paintings. In this body of work, I have explored the notion of everyday experiences and the way we choose to perceive them.
These are some of the questions that I have asked myself:
Does mundanity really exist or is it perception? How fleeting are fleeting moments? What are the benefits of a good belly laugh? How disparate are tears of happiness and tears of frustration? How much can someone love? When are we happy enough?
Life, for me, is an experience and not a concept. A series of twists and turns that we face to test us, to help us grow in our relationships with others but also spiritually and emotionally. We can choose how we observe and interact in our life.”
Enjoy,

I absolutely support Michelle’s journey through her art; she has a deep understanding of human psychology expressed through her paintings. deep understanding of the frailty of the human personality; especially when it is in conflict with the purpose of the soul during its journey through the current life period on this planet. Her works of art are an expression of the soul’s purpose to encourage the personality toward enlightenment.
